I'm in a play competition in the Comhaltas centre in Monkstown, South Dublin. I'm in two plays, one is Popcorn by Ben Elton, a play about a Hill Billy couple who kill hundreds of people around America, in which I play Scout. The other play is Women and Wallace, by Jonathan Marc Sherman, in which I play Wendy, basically a drunken slut. They're both really great plays and I can't wait to do them 'cause we've all put in so much work!
In other news, my mother is in Africa at the moment, building houses with the Niall Mellon Township Trust. She went last year to a town called Wallacedene, and loved it. I'm not quite sure where it is that she's building this year, but no doubt I'll be hearing stories for the next couple of months.
After my last order off eBay, I was hesitant to go back, seen as I ordered my Halloween costume at the start of October and received it the Monday just gone by, but I've ordered a dress for €10, so hopefully it's not hideously ill-fitting, or I get it before the Apocalypse, but if it is, I can only blame myself to be honest.
I started singing lessons last week with a girl called Lisa Nolan (here band can be found here). She's lovely, and really helpful, but I'm struggling, because I never really had much structure to my singing before. I just finished learning Summertime, so it seems I'm going to be a Jazz singer, something I really didn't expect to suit my voice.
Truly can't get enough of The Smiths.
